So, you're getting your butt whooped in ROBLOX battlegrounds. well boohoo we all start out pretty bad in the game anyways. I may not be a master of the game but I can at least show you how to defend yourself against toxic players that feed on your defeat. I will provide a tutorial on controls and a better understanding of the rules of the game. I will also provide guides on movement

Button Tutorial

The controls are pretty simple. You have your block button (Square), your dash button (Triangle), Your attack button (Circle), and your jump button (X). Your L1,L2,R1, and R2 are your ability buttons. You use your left joystick to control the movement and your right joystick to change your point of view. Depending on the character you are using, they will have a different sets of abilities. Each have different affects and sure hits to damage your opponent. The better understanding of your character, the more likely you are able to beat your opponent. My tip is to find a character you should commit on and learn his abilities. you can practice movements and your character as well. Your attack button can only allow 4 hits and each have different variant. If you hold X while attacking, you will hit him in the air with the possibility of connecting it with another move. if you hit him three times, jump at the last hit to slam him into the ground.

Movement

ree

For Movement its kind of complicated. There are a lot of movements that people often use like a side dash to the back. What you have to do is make sure which side of the joystick you feel comfortable of leaning towards. Move your right joystick as well to look at your opponent while looking. If this is too hard, there is a lock on mechanic to make it easier. But, once you learn how to not lock on, your movements become more smooth and more unpredictable. Simultaneously press triangle and circle to do a side-dash attack to his back. It breaks his guard and it will allow to make a connection of combos. Techs are not my thing but there are other sources for that type of thing. Backdashes are useful. If your connection fail they have a chance to counter and punish your mistake. You have to be quick on your movement. On the first miss, you must immediately back dash to escape the punishment. What I do a lot is jump most of the times. It can cause confusion on where you might side dash. It could disrupt their predictions on where you will side dash.

Rules

ree

So lets say you slammed him in the ground, and try to connect another attack but the attack does not register the hit and allows him to hit back. Why is that? Well the game allows a small 1-2 seconds of immunity from attack stuns and attacks damage. The only way to bypass the immunity is to connect with one of your other abilities. Ones you can connect while your opponent is ragdolled. Ragdoll means a physics-based system that simulates the unconstrained movement of a character's body, often used when a character loses consciousness or is defeated. There are a lot of tech that can allow you to utilize their ragdolled state to inflict more damage or extend your combos. Each character has there own unique tech.

Conclusion

At the end of it all, its all about your understanding of the rules of the game and the character you choose to master first. Understand your characters movesets and see if you can make connections. always do trial and error on a dummy. Avoid fighting real players until you found a perfect combo string and see if you can improve it.
